Barry Lather's talents and experience stems from over a 25 year award winning career as a choreographer in video, television, commercials, live performances & stage. Barry won an MTV Video Music Award & Billboard Award for Janet Jackson’s “The Pleasure Principle” video, which skyrocketed his choreographic career.
Artist such as, Prince, Michael Jackson, Sting, Britney Spears, George Michaels, Paula Abdul, all have worked with Barry and his skilled creative vision & choreography. Barry directed and choreographed Justin Bieber’s American Music Awards performance and directed r & b singer Miguel’s Tour. Barry has directed & choreographed elaborate ice shows across the globe as well....working with Olympic skaters Kristi Yamaguchi, Bryan Boitano, Scott Hamilton, Kurt Browning & Katrina Witt.
Television credits include the Kids Choice Awards, the Academy Awards, multiple Grammy Award Performances, American Music Awards, MTV Awards, Billboard Awards, BET Awards, American Idol, and the 1998 Superbowl Halftime Special production viewed by millions all over the world. Barry received a Bob Fosse Award in 1997 for his groundbreaking choreography with the “King of Pop" on Michael Jackson’s acclaimed film “Ghost”.
Feature film credits include “Blues Brothers 2000” with Dan Akroyd & John Goodman,
“Death to Smoochy” with Robin Williams and Danny Devito and the film “Vegas Vacation”.
Live show credits include most recently, the edgy freestyle motocross show “Nuclear Cowboyz” touring the States, Estelle’s Vancouver Winter Olympic performance, Donny & Marie Osmond’s hit Las Vegas Show at the Flamingo, Usher’s So You Think You Can Dance performance, Keri Hilson’s BET Award performance, Usher’s 2010 BET Award performance, Rihanna’s European Tour, Fashion Rocks & American Music Awards performances, two “Dancing with the Stars” arena tours, Mariah Carey’s world tour, also industrials & theme park productions for Disney, Paramount Parks and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
